Tinta

Tinta room with the circular table and the stone niches holding bottles

Below ground level, Tinta is a space where wine remains calm and in half-light, maturing far from light and noise. The project transfers that condition to space: a narrow threshold flanked by steel niches leads to a room whose limestone perimeter holds the collection. At the centre, a circular table gathers those who share the tasting, themselves called to a time of pause.

Three materials define the project: the Corten steel of the furniture and the floor, whose patina, like wine, is the result of time; the limestone of the shelves that form the niches housing the cases; and the cork of the ceiling, which tempers sound and recalls the material that seals each bottle. A measured, pointed light builds an intimate and solemn atmosphere in which the wine and those who share it find their own repose.
